Laurence Harf is one of France's most distinguished medievalists and has published some twenty books and over a hundred articles on the Middle Ages. She is also an expert on the medieval background of modern opera. Last year she co-organized an international colloquium in Italy on Le Moyen Age à l'opéra: Thèmes, personnages, images du Moyen Age dans le théatre lyrique des XIX-XXe siècles.
